This afternoon I was flipping thru channels while feeding Jacob and landed on the movie Signs. The one about the aliens and the crop circles. It was the scene where the kids and Joaquin Phoenix are watching the news with tin foil wrapped around their heads. Jordan sees the kids and of course wants to watch. I tell her it's scary; she doesn't care. Then she tells me she wants a foil hat. Specifically, she wants a pink foil hat (of course she does (didn't I just blog about this today?)). So I make her a plain one, and then sneak off to find the camera.
Today was a typical spring day in the ABQ: 30+ mph wind. And it makes funny sounds across our flat roof. Not twenty minutes after the movie is over, she comes running into the kitchen looking spooked, with her foil hat back on her head. I ask her what's the matter, and she says the Aliens are Coming! I know she'll probably come wake me up in the middle of the night, and I'll deserve it.
