We finally enjoyed some of the bounty of our garden today. And "bounty" is a real stretch. Our sweet peas were ready to pick and eat, and they were really good. And also probably the most expensive peas I've ever eaten. We had about 6 plants (that were grown from seed, so no expense there), invested in a few wooden dowels for support, a bag of compost, and probably dumped $20 worth of water on them. And the yield?? Half of a small (cereal sized) bowl. But it was worth it to see Jordan shell peas, POSE and SMILE for the camera while she was doing it, and then eat more vegetable than she's had in the past 3 days. The rest we cooked with orzo pasta, and it was yummy.
The next morning we had bisquits with jelly. Jo wanted me to take her picture with her jelly mustache. Maybe she's turning over a new leaf for the camera....
